Dear Universe, You got my order wrong… -

Some of you may have read my blog post “You Live a Charmed Life” – about me manifesting a little black dress I had envisioned. Well, I got the dress in the mail and when I took it home and tried it on, expecting it to look gorgeous, it looked… awful!

“Come on, universe,” part of me cried, “What gives? I got the reality and then it turned sour! Why?”

Another, wiser, part knows why (and should have known better). I focused solely on one thing… how it was going to look. I knew the color, the cut, the neckline, the sleeves, everything about how it looked.

And you know what? It did look just like I had imagined.

What did I forget? How I would feel in the dress. I forgot how the dress would impact me. The most important part of the order and had I totally left it out!

So, the dress went back. Let’s try this again…

Please send me a dress that makes me feel…

Beautiful

Elegant

Graceful

Comfortable

And happy

What price do I need to pay for my creation? I need to give up control… about when it comes, and how it appears. It may look like the black dress I imagined; then again it may also look totally different from that dress. And really, who cares, if it makes me feel wonderful?

I also need to give up the belief that says it’s hard to be/look beautiful (at whatever weight, age, size, shape I happen to be) – ahhhh, yeah, that one.
