Recently I was down about money—my roommate had not paid rent in several months, and his financial situation was growing more desperate weekly. I didn’t want to kick him to the curb because he was kind of my friend and I didn’t want to burn that bridge.
I was using up all my savings paying the bills—and my finances were dwindling. So instead of getting angry, depressed, or worried I decided to let the situation resolve itself “with grace, elegance, and harm to none” as Boni says.
Then, shortly before my bank account zeroed out, I found a new roommate. When I broke the news to the deadbeat roomie that he had to move out, he informed me that he had been offered a room for free from some acquaintances of his that lived only .4 miles from my house. (“Good timing,” I thought).
Then a job found it’s way to me through my school (without any solicitation on my part) I turned it down at first because I thought it would be too time consuming. Then shortly before my summer break, I was offered the same job from the same person in a slightly different capacity that was perfect for me. I happily accepted. (“Good timing,” I thought again).
And just the other day I received a letter in the mail that said I was going to be paid several hundred dollars for a job I completed almost 3 years ago. I never thought I would be paid for that work in a million years!
I thought, “Wait a minute. This must be MY work, I AM creating money for myself (again)!”
I gave myself a mental high-five, and I happily look forward to more unexpected windfalls of “creative abundance manifestation” in the future. Let it rain money, I’ll figure out how to spend it later.
